Building the Vision
Twenty ago, FRTAB members traveled to Thimphu to conceive a vision of a dynamic academy that would protect and advance the timeless art form of Bhutanese textiles. Today that vision has materialized into a thriving modern complex, the Royal Textile Academy, which is a beacon for all who seek to grow in their understanding and appreciation of one of the world’s oldest and most sacred art forms. Three world-class facilities now rise from the Himalayas where before there existed only imagination and an unfaltering determination to make the vision real. A soon-to-be-completed Conference and Cultural Center will bring the vision to completion.

Early visionaries: Architect Doug Soe Lin, FRTAB President Krista Amason, and Warren Amason.
